It’s a new year and so many things have changed. I am thankful for the opportunity to reflect and refocus through the Pet Blogger Challenge, initiated by fellow pet-bloggers Edie Jarolim of Will My Dog Hate Me? and Amy Burkert of Go Pet-Friendly.
1. When did you begin your blog?
Our first blog post is dated March, 2010, but was actually posted in June, 2010.
2. What was your original purpose for starting a blog?
I originally started blogging for myself only. I had intended to keep track of the milestones and achievements my dog and I made together and to document our experiences as a therapy dog team.
3. Is your current purpose the same?
Our purpose has changed a bit. Lu and I achieved our therapy dog certification far ahead of our anticipated timeline, but it turns out that being a therapy dog isn’t really her ‘thing’. And though I still blog mainly to keep track of the milestones and achievements we’ve made, I’ve started blogging about things that I think other people might find helpful or interesting, such as product reviews and information about rescue.
We’ve also added a new member to our furry family, so I’m keeping track of his life as well.
4. Do you blog on a schedule or as the spirit moves you?
Aside from my "Wall-eyed Wednesdays" posts, I have no set schedule. I blog whenever my dogs do something that I find amusing, when we achieve a training goal, when something I think might be helpful to others pops into my head, or when I come across something interesting on the web.
5. Are you generating income from your blog?
I am not generating any income from my blog, although I wouldn’t mind doing so.
6. What do you like most about blogging in general and your blog in particular (bragging is good!)?
My dogs make me smile. They bring a joy to my life that I never knew existed. I love being able to reflect on what we’ve done together and smile all over again. And I hope that maybe they can bring a smile to someone else out there!
7. What do you like least?
The anxiety of wondering if anyone out there is reading! I try to remember that I started this blog for me, but I’ll admit, I do want people to read it. I just keep telling myself that if I write what I want to read, others will want to read it, too.
8. How do you see your blog changing or growing in 2011?
After a hiatus due to injuries I sustained in a car accident, and due to Wally’s hip injury, we’ll be returning to training. Yay! We should have many training tips, milestones and achievements this year.
I’ve also purchased a new camera, so I hope everyone likes pictures!
Are you out there? We’d love to hear from you. Don’t be shy – leave us a comment and let us know you dropped by!
