We’re Stylish Bloggers!
Much love to Oscar the Pooch, who selected us as one of the recipients of the Stylish Blogger Award. Very cool! :)
The rules for accepting the award are to thank the person (or pups!) who gave you the award, share 7 things about yourself, link to 15 recently discovered bloggers, and contact them to tell them about the award.
7 things about me, LuLu and Wally:
1. I am married to my high school sweetheart and have 2 children, a daughter who is 16 and a son who is 10.
2. I have always considered myself a cat person. (I know! Can you believe it!?) Our family also consists of 2 cats – a 12 year old male tabby named “Sid” and a 6 year old male tabby named “Paws”. I now consider myself a crazy dog person, as well as a cat person. ;)
3. I volunteer with an organization called NEADS – Dogs for Deaf and Disabled Americans. I am just one of the many volunteers who help socialize and teach basic obedience to puppies between the ages of 8 and 14 weeks old so that they can go on to become service dogs.
4. Someday, I’d like to have a Rottweiler. All of the Rotties I’ve ever met have been big goofy babies. I have fallen head over heels in love with the breed. Unfortunately, my current house is too small for a dog of that size.
5. I work on an as-needed basis for a local doggy daycare / boarding facility. I love being able to interact with all the different types of dogs.
6. Wally has a shoe fetish. He doesn’t chew them, he just hoards them, and only when the humans are not home. When I come through the door, I can be sure to find him surrounded by a pile of shoes, all perfectly in order. I think he just likes to be surrounded by our scent while we’re gone.
7. Neither of my dogs have ever been boarded. We are going on a trip in July and will have to board them for 9 days. I am terrified to leave them in anyone else’s care. Even though I will be leaving them at the kennel I work at and know they will be well taken care of, the thought of them feeling abandoned, scared or confused makes me want to cry.

Thank you Angel, Lulu and Wally! We’re honored and enjoyed reading more about you! I was so surprised to read you had cats! Have they ever made an appearance on the blog? If not, they’re probably jealous of Lulu & Wally’s fame. ;)
We’ve never boarded Gus either. At least you have such a familiar place to take them to…I’m sure they’ll be doted on the entire duration of their stay.
Thanks again for the fab award. We enjoy reading about Lulu & Wally!
I did post a video of Lu and Paws (the younger cat) playing, but haven’t ever posted any photos of our old man, Sid. He’s a giant. We think he must have some Maine Coon in there somewhere! He avoids the dogs like the plague. He’s not afraid of them, he just finds them EXTREMELY annoying. LOL
He swatted Lu in the face once when she was a baby and she ran off squealing like a pig (drama queen!) I thought he took her eye out, from the way she was screaming! LOL She learned her lesson though. She doesn’t mess with him at all.
Wally, on the other hand, is a dope and still barks at him incessantly whenever he walks in the room, earning him a good (clawless) tap upside the head, which of course has no effect. Maybe someday Sid will knock Wally’s eyes straight! haha
Poor old kitty, having to deal with these noisy puppies must be a real drag!
Congratulations on your award, and thank you so much for passing it along to me! Kelly and I are smiling!
I enjoyed your facts, your volunteer work for Dogs for the Deaf and Disabled sounds wonderful, and I bet it’s very rewarding.
congratulations on your stylish blog award and for mentioning my blog- really do appreciate that!
What great work you are doing with your volunteerism! Way to go!
thank you so much and congratulation on your well deserved award! Your bostons will be in safe hands when you vacation. We like to take ours with us too but sometimes it’s just not possible. Thanks again and when I get back to my computer I wl stop by again. Ann
Congratulations on your award! I have a rotty and we think boxer mix – perfect size! She’s strong as an ox though!! Try a mix!!
Hey pals-
Thanks!! Always great to get awards, especially from some fellow (good-looking!) smoosh-faced pups!
Snorts-
Brutus & Carmen
We see that you already have this award, but we wanted to share it with you as well! Thanks for such a fun blog. We enjoy following! Hop over to Banjo and Millie if you’d like to see who else we shared it with.
XOXO,
Banjo & Millie
Thanks for the award. You know I am a big fan of your pooches too!
Wow, a pat on the back for me and a tummy rub for Kirby! I get excited every time we get a new fan or follower but an award from a fellow blogger is even more pawsome! Knowing you know how much work goes into doing a blog makes this truly special. You like me! Thank you so very much!
But enough about me. I think your blog is fun and I really do enjoy your pictures hence your listed on my bark roll. Only the best!
I get the boarding part too. Other than doggie day care Kirbs has only had to stay with Doug who adores him. My stepmom boards hers at a place where they have cameras set up and she can check on them anytime via a computer. Maybe an idea for your local kennel? Just saying.
Great facts about you! Our Mama says she knows the feeling about boarding pets… She has never boarded Lily at all yet, and has boarded Trixie and sammy-joe only a few times. even though she knows we are being taken care of well, she wants to cry just thinking we might be sad or that we might miss her! But… we don’t really have a concept of time, and as soon as we see you again, we forget you were ever gone! :)
Congratulations on winning the well-deserved award! I always enjoy learning new things about my favorite bloggers.
I think it’s funny that you’re a cat person. Stanley Coren wrote in one of his books that most people prefer cats or dogs but that when you have both, you’re automatically a dog person. (Probably because dogs require you to adjust your routines more.)
Thank you so much LuLu and Wally for passing this award on to us. We really appreciate it. We’ve never boarded any of our pets either; luckily my sister or mom is always available if we have to go out of town, but I can sympathize with you and the worry you are feeling over having to do it. I’d be a nervous wreck!
Congrats on your award – and thank you so much! You’re too sweet. :)
I’ve never boarded Bella either, so I understand your nerves! I’m sure everything will be okay though!
