Last week at class we worked on a new freestyle turn.  A lot of freestyle moves build on things you already know how to do, but display the skills in a more creative way. To that end, we learned a new way to change direction.  Instead of simply turning together, the handler and the dog both spin independently.  The dog then ends up on the opposite side of the handler from where they started and the movement direction is also changed to face whichever direction the handler wants to move in.

In this video, I was attempting to make a 270 degree turn.  It took a few tries, but we finally got it!  (Trust me, it’s harder than it looks!)
