With the threat of a hurricane looming all week, we prepared for a whopper.   Thankfully, Irene didn’t really show up for the party here in our little nook of central Massachusetts.   The eye of the storm passed right over us, but on the backside, there was very little rain. To the east and west, there was MUCH more rain and flooding, but here in our town, we fared ok. We did get some heavy rain on the front side of the storm, along with quite a bit of wind, but nothing extraordinary.   We never lost power and our satellite only went out for a little while.

After the storm passed, we went out to survey the damage. It seems that the biggest casualty in our neighborhood is our neighbor’s broken tree!  PHEW!
