Yesterday was a rough day.  At 4am, The Boy woke up with severe abdominal pain in the lower right side of his abdomen.  At 5:30am, he started vomiting and still had pain.  I decided to take him to the pediatrician to rule out appendicitis, just to be safe.   The pediatrician sent us directly to the ER, where they ran all sorts of tests, gave him an ultrasound, then a CT scan.

After being at the hospital allllll day, it was finally determined that he has something called “mesenteric adenitis” – an inflammation of the lymph nodes in his abdomen which is commonly mistaken for appendicitis.  It resolves on its own and there’s no treatment necessary.  PHEW!  Crisis averted!  :)
