A Rescued Dog’s Journey

I must admit, I have been neglecting the blog for a couple of months now, but I have an excuse!

As you know, 2 months ago we began fostering Phoenix.  He has needed a lot of care to recover from the horrible condition he was in when he came to us.  It’s been a long two months, but Phee will be listed for adoption this week.

I created a video documenting his road to recovery.  I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I’ve enjoyed helping this boy on his journey to his forever home.  Whoever adopts him will be very, very blessed.

For more information on adopting Phee and other dogs like him, please visit www.SNORTRescue.org or Petfinder.com.

And please remember:

If you can’t adopt, FOSTER.

If you can’t foster, SPONSOR.

If you can’t sponsor, VOLUNTEER.

If you can’t volunteer, DONATE.

If you can’t donate, EDUCATE – NETWORK – CROSSPOST.

Everyone can do something, large or small, to help save a life!

You brought me to tears…..I’ve been waiting to hear about little Phee. I’m so happy for him and grateful to you for his care and rehabilitation. I’m sure that he will be adopted into a wonderful forever home.

I have to admit, I’m kinda sad. I was so sure that you wouldn’t be able to give Phee up, and I’m sad that I can’t have him. I’m sad that someone won’t tell us how he is and I won’t be able to watch him on Facebook.

I know the whole point of foster is to get them better and get them homes, but gee, if this one is this killing me. It’s why I give money instead of fostering. I could not give up Phee. I have to give it to you, I could never do what you do.

I hope whoever adopts that wee boy will let us know how he is once in a while. I’ll miss him terribly.

I will miss him terribly, too. Every time I think of him going somewhere else, I break down in tears. But there is really no option for me to keep him. I honestly can’t afford his medications and veterinary care on my own. Also, our rescue requires that you continue fostering if you want to adopt your foster, which I could not do. So I have no choice. The only thing I can do is find him a wonderful new home where he’s treated like the amazing fellow that he is. I hope that person will stay in touch, but there are never any guarantees in life. He will always have a very special place in my heart.

Again, the reason I could not foster!! We both know it’s in the best interest of the pup, but just too damned hard for me. I’m so glad you do it so you can continue to foster. I admire all of you who can do that. I can’t take him for similar reasons. Already have three, couldn’t afford the meds, etc. But if I could…it’s because of you that he gets a fabulous new life. But I will miss the little man.

Your blog and facebook posts made me more aware of rescues and all I can do to help with the MABTR in my area. Your video made me cry and hug my girl tight. Most of all, your posts and the amazing voice you gave Phee made me fall in love with the little guy. I too am sad that we won’t get to see him and hear how he’s doing.

I’ll be there helping with your next foster though if I can get to the Amazon list before it’s cleaned out again. :)

Thank you for posting about Phoenix’s progress! I was worried when you weren’t posting for a while, so glad to see that he looks AMAZING! Love all of the pictures, can’t pick a favorite, though the fang face and frog leg pics were super cute. :) Looked like he got along well with Lulu and Wally too, what sweeties. You’re the sweetest though for taking care of him!

Oh Angel, I cried my eyes out looking at these photos. What a wonderful journey. The people who adopt little Phee will be lucky indeed.

This was so moving to watch! I have adopted a rescue Boston and I want to thank you for what you did for Phee. If it wasn’t for people like you, these of us who aren’t able to nurse them back to health would not have the chance to adopt these gentle, loving dogs. Thank you!
